Since July 24, when the University of Pennsylvania signed an enterprise license for Zoom virtual meeting software, Penn Medicine and ISC have worked together to expand a centrally paid, full-function Zoom access to all active Perelman School of Medicine students, faculty, and staff – in time for the fall semester.
With this news, PSOM faculty, staff and students now have access to a central Penn Medicine Zoom service: pennmedicine.zoom.us. This new service provides a unified infrastructure for remote teaching and learning and enables students to collaborate inside and outside the classroom, form virtual communities and remain engaged in campus activities.
Zoom can be used to host education, research and administrative meetings. Zoom cannot be used for telemedicine / telehealth visits.
Existing video conferencing options, such as Blue Jeans and Microsoft Teams, can continue to be used as well.
Accessing Zoom at Penn Medicine
PSOM Faculty, students, and staff can access the new Penn Medicine Zoom service by using their PennKey and password to log into: https://pennmedicine.zoom.us/.
Existing Zoom users who access their Zoom account through another link, such as https://upenn.zoom.us/, should continue to do so at this time.
Account holders outside of the central Penn Zoom service will be able to attend meetings on pennmedicine.zoom.us, but will have limited access to collaborative features.
